IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross country awards for the week ending Sunday, October 19.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Bernard Cheruiyot, So., Tulane
In a loaded field featuring 16 top 30 teams and 230 athletes, Cheruiyot earned a podium finish as Tulane’s top finisher. The sophomore ran the 8,000-meter race in a time of 23:10.4 for a third-place finish. The Green Wave finished above six ranked teams as a team, including No. 1 Iowa State.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Blezzin Kimutai, So., Tulane
Kimuati was Tulane’s highest finisher with a time of 19:31.7 in the 6,000-meter race at the Crimson Classic.  She placed fifth out of 183 athletes in competition, helping the Green Wave earn a 2^nd place team finish out of 23 teams.
