IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, October 26.
Offensive Player of the Week
Maria Clara Andrade, Sr., OH, South Florida
Andrade led the Bulls with 5.07 points per set while hitting .389 from her outside hitter position. In the 3-1 win over Charlotte, the senior had 31 kills.
Defensive Player of the Week
Iyanna Garvin, Jr., MB, South Florida
Garvin was a force at the net for the Bulls, finishing with 2.00 blocks per set in wins over East Carolina and Charlotte. She had seven blocks in both matches.
Setter of the Week
Kaia Mateo, Jr., S, Rice
Mateo paced the Owls to a pair of wins over UTSA and Tulane, averaging 11.86 assists per set while guiding the team to a .314 hitting percentage.
Freshman of the Week
Kierstin Bevelle, Fr., OH, Florida Atlantic
Bevelle helped guide the Owls to wins over Memphis and UAB, averaging 4.07 points per set, while hitting .356 on the week.
Honorable Mention
Olivia Hart, So., OH, Florida Atlantic
Hart averaged 5.07 points per set in road wins over Memphis and UAB.
Raegan Richardson, So., S, South Florida
Richardson averaged 10.57 assist per set, while collecting 13 digs on defense.
Dayla Ortiz, So., DS/L, Tulane
Ortiz averaged 4.63 digs per set for the Green Wave and was perfect on reception attempts.
Jordan Heatherly, Jr., S, Wichita State
Heatherly averaged 9.33 assists per set, including 35 in the win over Tulane.
