IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors from Week 11 of the 2025 season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Retzlaff • R-Sr. • QB • Tulane
Retzlaff accounted for four touchdowns as the Gren Wave took down nationally ranked Memphis on the road, 38-32. The red-shirt senior went 16-for-23 for 332 yards and three touchdowns through the air, while adding 56 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Two touchdown passes went for over 50 yards. Retzlaff helped the offensive average 8.2 yards per play in the win.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jarvis Lee • Jr. • CB • South Florida
Lee played a crucial roll in two defensive touchdowns to start the game for the Bulls. His blitz pressure on the first play of the game forced an errant throw resulting in a pick-six. On the next drive, his strip sack resulted in an 85 yard touchdown.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nick Mazzie • R-Sr. • K • East Carolina
Mazzie tallied 12 points in the 48-22 win over Charlotte, going a perfect 6-for-6 on his extra point attempts, while adding two field goals, both over 40 yards. His 50-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was his season best. It marks the fourth time this season he has made two field goals in a game for the Pirates.
HONORABLE MENTION
TyMir Brown • R-Jr. • CB • East Carolina
Brown intercepted his first career pass in the first quarter of the 48-22 win over Charlotte, returning the interception 45 yards for a touchdown.
Katin Houser • R-Jr. • QB • East Carolina
Accounted for four total touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) in the 48-22 win over Tulsa.
Damarius McGhee • R-Sr. • CB • Florida Atlantic
Returned a fumble 95 yards for a touchdown in the 40-21 win over Tulsa.
Easton Messer • R-Jr. • WR • Florida Atlantic
Caught six passes for 83 yards and three touchdowns (44, 11, 9) in a 40-21 win over Tulsa.
Byrum Brown • Sr. • QB • South Florida
Accounted for 348 total yards and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in the 55-23 win against UTSA.
