South Florida's Battle, Tulsa's Toman Earn Weekly Women's Basketball Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 9.
 
Player of the Week
Edyn Battle, Gr., G, South Florida
Battle led the Bulls to a pair of wins over FIU and LIU, averaging a conference-best 20.0 points per game, while shooting 47.2 percent from the field. She added five rebounds and three assists per game.
 
Freshman of the Week
Dora Toman, G, Tulsa
Toman stuffed the stat sheet, helping Tulsa defeat New Orleans and Prairie View during the opening week of play. The guard averaged six points per game, while adding 2.5 steals, five assists, nine rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game as well.
 
Honorable Mention
Princess Anderson, Sr., G, Charlotte
Anderson had a pair of 26-point performances, helping guide the 49ers to their first win over a Big 12 school since 2012-13.

Vivian Onugha, Jr., F, Florida Atlantic
Onugha recorded a 24-point, 11-rebound double-double to open the season in the 89-46 win over Florida Memorial.
 
Tiffany Hammond, Sr., G, North Texas
Hammond had a career-high 22 points in North Texas' season opening win. She averaged 15.5 points in two wins.
 
Jaleesa Molina, Jr., F, Temple
Molina averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in wins over George Mason and George Washington.
 
Abby Jegede, R-Jr., Tulsa
Jegede scored 29 points on 56 percent from shooting from the field in Tulsa's 79-59 win over Prairie View.
