IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors from Week 12 of the 2025 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caleb Hawkins   Fr. RB North Texas
Hawkins tallied five rushing touchdowns (1, 4, 11, 9, 5) in the 53-24 win over UAB, breaking the North Texas program record. His 16 rushing touchdowns is tied for the nation’s lead. He carried the ball 27 times for 189 yards, while adding one catch for 21 yards.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Phillip Hamilton • So. • S • Navy
Hamilton was all over the field for the Midshipmen, totaling seven tackles, while also forcing a fumble and intercepting a pass. His interception set up a field goal for Navy as the Midshipmen took down No. 24 South Florida.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nathan Kirkwood • Sr. • K • Navy
Kirkwood tallied 11 points for the Midshipmen in the 41-38 win over No. 24 South Florida.  The senior made field goals of 44 and 31 yards, while going a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Katin Houser • R-Jr. • QB • East Carolina
Completed 23 of 34 passes for 332 yards and the game-winning touchdown with 1:08 remaining in the game to defeat Memphis 31-27.
 
Will Jones II • Sr. • DB • North Texas
Recorded six tackles (three solos) with one pass breakup and two interceptions in the 53-24 win over UAB.
 
Will Henderson III • R-Fr. • RB • UTSA
Toted the ball 19 times for a career-high 185 yards and a touchdown in the 28-7 win over Charlotte.
 
Jake Retzlaff • Jr • QB • Tulane
Scored three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) while throwing for 241 yards in the 35-24 win over Florida Atlantic.
 
Dominic Richardson • R-Sr. • RB • Tulsa
Rushed for 166 yards on 6.1 yards per carry, scoring one touchdown in the 31-14 win over Oregon State.
