IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors from Week 14 of the 2025 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caleb Hawkins  Fr. RB North Texas
Hawkins rushed for 186 yards on 25 attempts (7.4 yards per carry) with four touchdowns as the Mean Green clinched a berth in the 2025 American Football Championship presented by LLH Healthcare with a win over Temple. With four rushing touchdowns, the true freshman leads FBS with 23 rushing touchdowns, 26 total touchdowns and 156 total points scored.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jaydan Mayes • Jr. • CB • Army
Mayes had a 73-yard interception return for touchdown late in the first half as Army defeated UTSA on the road, 27-24. The redshirt senior also finished the game with seven tackles.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kali Nguma • So. • K • North Texas
Nguma was perfect on eight kicks as the Mean Green clinched a spot in the title game against Temple. The sophomore converted 7-of-7 PATs and 1-of-1 on field goals.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Jevon Jackson • R-Sr. • RB • UAB
Rushed for 117 yards with two fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 31-24 win at Tulsa.
 
Noah Short • Sr. • WB • Army
Rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries (9.1 yards per rush) in 27-24 win at UTSA.
 
Katin Houser • R-Jr. • QB • East Carolina
Accounted for four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) and 325 total yards in a 42-3 win over Florida Atlantic.
 
Alex Tecza • Sr. • RB • Navy
Rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-17 win at Memphis.
 
Byrum Brown • Sr • QB • South Florida
Accounted for five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) and 379 total yards in a 52-3 win over Rice, becoming the 12th player in FBS history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
