IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s basketball honors for the eighth week of the regular season.
 
Player of the Week
David Green, Gr., F, Tulsa
Green helped the Golden Hurricane improve to 12-1 on the season with a 90-85 win over Denver on Monday, December 22, by scoring 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting with three rebounds and two steals in just under 20 minutes of action.
 
Freshman of the Week
EJ Horton, G, North Texas
Horton recorded 12 points, including a SportsCenter top-10 dunk, three assists and two rebounds in the Mean Green’s win over the University of Science and Arts (Okla.) last Monday in Denton.
 
Honorable Mention
Giovanni Emejuru, Sr., C, East Carolina
Tallied his sixth double-double of the season with 21 points and 14 rebounds against No. 12 North Carolina
 
Dug McDaniel, Sr., G, Memphis
Scored 23 points (including seven 3-pointers) with three assists and two steals in the Tigers’ 88-67 win over Alabama State.
 
David Terrell Jr., Jr., G, North Texas
Recorded 16 points, four assists and three steals in the Mean Green’s win on Monday.
 
Jordan Mason, Sr., G, Temple
Aided the Owls to a 65-61 win over Princeton with 16 points, four assists and three rebounds.
