Tulane Takes Down Wichita State, 69-63, in Second Round of American Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 6 seed Tulane defeated No. 11 seed Wichita State, 67-63, in the second round of the 2025 American Women’s Basketball Championship Sunday evening, March 9, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
With the win, the Green Wave (17-12) advance to the quarterfinals to take on No. 3 seed South Florida on Monday, March 10 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on ESPN+. This will be Tulane’s sixth consecutive appearance in the quarterfinals.
 
Wichita State (10-22) shot 69.2 percent (9-13) from the floor in the first quarter, taking a 25-19 lead. Salese Blow scored 30 points in the contest to lead the Shockers, with 11 coming in the opening quarter on 4-of-5 shooting.
 
The Green Wave held the Shockers to two of their final 12 shots in the second quarter while shooting 53.8 percent (7-13) from the floor, cutting the lead to one at the halftime break (34-33).
 
Tulane outscored Wichita State, 21-12 in the third quarter, taking a 5-point lead into the fourth quarter. Victoria Keenan scored 26 points, a career-high, on 7-of-11 shooting, including going 5-for-8 behind the arc.
