East Carolina's Norby, Florida Atlantic's Schroeder Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the fifth week of the regular season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
John Schroeder, Sr., OF, Florida Atlantic
Schroeder helped lead the Owls to a 5-0 week by hitting .500 (10-for-20) with nine runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and 11 runs driven in. He had a hit and scored a run in all five games and had three extra-base hits with nine RBI in a weekend sweep of Bradley.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Ethan Norby, So., East Carolina
Norby pitched a 7-inning shutout of William & Mary on Friday, March 14. The sophomore scattered five hits and two walks while striking out six Tribe batters.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
John Collins, Gr., DH, East Carolina
Collins helped lead the Pirates to a 5-0 week by hitting .444 (8-for-18) with eight runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI.
 
Trey Beard, So., P, Florida Atlantic
Beard earned the win over Bradley on Friday night, pitching six scoreless innings with three hits allowed, two walks and nine strikeouts.
 
Cy Turner, Jr., INF/OF, Memphis
Turner hit .500 (7-for-14) with four runs scored, a double and three RBI as the Tigers went 3-1.
 
Bryce Archie, Jr., P, South Florida
Archie earned the win in a 4-3 win over Maryland on Saturday, March 16, tossing six innings with one run allowed on three hits and our strikeouts.
 
Michael Lombardi, Jr., P/OF, Tulane
Lombardi earned two saves from the mound for the Green Wave, striking out six in 2.2 innings of work. He also scored eight runs on the week.
