IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the 11th week of the regular season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ty Hodge, R-Jr., INF, UTSA
Hodge hit .462 (6-13) with five runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and 12 runs driven in as the first-place Roadrunners earned a sweep over Memphis. The redshirt junior recorded two hits in each game and drove in at least two runs in all three contests. In the series finale, Hodge delivered the walk-off RBI single in the 11^th inning to clinch the sweep.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Colin Daniel, Jr., UAB
Daniel threw a complete-game shutout on Friday night in a 3-0 win over Rice. In his 9-inning performance, the junior scattered three hits without issuing a walk, and struck out 13 Rice batters. It was the second complete game of his career and first shutout.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Connor Maryniak, Sr., INF, Charlotte
Maryniak hit .647 (11-17) with five runs scored, a double, a home run and four runs driven in as the 49ers went 3-1 last week, including a series win over Florida Atlantic.
 
Mike Szlurma, Gr., P, Charlotte
Szlurma started two games last week for the 49ers and picked up wins against Kennesaw State and Florida Atlantic, allowing one run on four hits over 12.0 innings of work with nine strikeouts.
 
Ethan Norby, So., P, East Carolina
Norby earned the win against Tulane on Saturday with six scoreless innings of relief while scattering three hits and striking out eight Green Wave batters.
 
Carlos Jacome, So., INF, South Florida
Jacome hit .583 (7-12) with three runs scored, two doubles, two triples and seven RBI as the Bulls earned a series win at Wichita State.
 
Gavin Schulz, Sr., DH, Tulane
Schulz aided the Green Wave to a series win over East Carolina by hitting .417 (5-12) with seven runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and six RBI.
