LOS ANGELES - UTSA's history-making run through the NCAA Championship came to an end in the Super Regional round as UCLA took 5-2 and 7-0 wins against the Roadrunners at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
The Roadrunners (47-15), who advanced to the Super Regional by winning the Austin Regional last week - including a pair of wins against No. 2 national seed Texas - saw UCLA overcome an early 2-0 deficit in Game 1 of the series before the Bruins broke open a tight 2-0 lead in Game 2 with five runs in the final two innings.
UTSA was playing in the Super Regional round for the first time in program history. The Roadrunners' 47 wins tied for second in American Athletic Conference history, while the Roadrunners finished the season with a conference-record 530 runs scored.
