Temple Falls To No. 13 Oklahoma

PHILADELPHIA — No. 13 Oklahoma piled up more than 500 yards of offense and used a relentless ground game to defeat Temple 42-3 on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Tory Blaylock rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback John Mateer threw for 282 yards and added a 51-yard scoring run as the Sooners (3-0) overwhelmed the Owls (2-1). Oklahoma finished with 228 rushing yards and 287 through the air in a balanced attack that produced 29 first downs and five touchdowns.

Isaiah Sategna III caught seven passes for 97 yards, and linebacker Reggie Powers III led the defense with a sack and four tackles as the Sooners limited Temple to just 104 total yards. The Owls managed only seven first downs and averaged less than two yards per play.

Temple’s lone points came on a 34-yard field goal by Camden Hardin late in the second quarter.

Oklahoma built a 25-0 lead midway through the second and never looked back, scoring on five of its first seven possessions. The Sooners’ defense recorded four sacks and forced nine three-and-outs, keeping Temple pinned deep most of the afternoon.
