OXFORD, Miss. — No. 13 Ole Miss took a 45-10 win over Tulane on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, improving to 3-0 behind a balanced offensive attack and opportunistic defense.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, including strikes to Dae’Quan Wright and Deuce Alexander, while also rushing for 112 yards . Running back Kewan Lacy added two short touchdown runs, and Logan Diggs tacked on another as the Rebels piled up 548 total yards.
Ole Miss led 23-3 at halftime after Lucas Carneiro drilled field goals from 22, 54 and 33 yards. The Rebels then broke the game open with three fourth-quarter touchdowns, highlighted by Alexander’s 33-yard scoring grab.
Tulane (3-1) managed 282 yards of offense, with Patrick Durkin’s 34-yard field goal in the second quarter and Brendan Sullivan’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Brown-Stephens late in the fourth providing the Green Wave’s only points. Quarterback Jake Retzlaff threw for 56 yards and ran for 51, but the Wave was stymied on three fourth-down attempts .
The Rebels’ defense kept Tulane in check throughout, forcing a turnover and allowing just one touchdown in the final minutes. Ole Miss has now won its first three games for the second straight season.
