IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s basketball honors for the 10
th week of the regular season.
Player of the Week
Kanaan Carlyle, Jr., G, Florida Atlantic
Carlyle helped lead the Owls to a pair of conference victories last week by averaging 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. The junior guard had 25 points, five rebounds and three steals against UAB on January 7 and added 17 points and three rebounds as the Owls defeated Memphis on January 11.
Freshman of the Week
Adriel Nyorha, G, South Florida
Nyorha came off the bench to aide the Bulls to road victories at North Texas and Tulsa last week, averaging 4.5 points and 4.0 assists per game. He had four points and three assists in a 4-point win against the Mean Green on January 7 and added five points and five assists against Tulsa on January 10.
Honorable Mention
Ben Bradford, So., G, Charlotte
Averaged 15.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 3.5 steals as the 49ers defeated UTSA and Rice.
Trae Broadnax, Gr., G, Rice
Scored 21 points as the Owls earned their first-ever win at Wichita State on January 7. Followed up with 21 points against Charlotte.
Wes Enis, Jr., G, South Florida
Averaged 17.5 points in two wins, including 32 points and 10 3-pointers on the road against Tulsa on January 10.
Gavin Griffiths, Jr., G, Temple
Dropped 24 points, six rebounds and four blocks in the Owls’ win against East Carolina on January 7.
Rowan Brumbaugh, R-Jr., G, Tulane
Recorded 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in the Green Wave’s win over UTSA on January 10.
