IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, January 18.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kennedy Fauntleroy, Sr., G, East Carolina
Fauntleroy had an impressive week, averaging 24 points, 7.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in wins over Tulsa and Temple.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Shiloh Kimpson, Fr., G, Tulane
Kimpson led the Green Wave to a pair of wins over Temple and UAB, averaging 10.5 points. She scored a career-high 11 points with two blocks against Temple.
HONORABLE MENTION
Vivian Onugha, Jr., F, Florida Atlantic
Onugha averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds, recording a pair of double-doubles against Wichita State and UTSA.
Megan Nestor, Sr., F, North Texas
Nestor averaged 16 points and 16 rebounds to in games against Memphis and Rice to extend her double-double streak to five games.
Shelby Hayes, Sr., C, Rice
Hayes led Rice to wins over UAB and North Texas to keep the Owls undefeated in American play, averaging 14 points and 8.5 rebounds.
Katie Davidson, Gr., G, South Florida
Davidson averaged 16 points, including scoring 24 points in South Florida’s win over Wichita State.
Kanija Daniel, Jr., G, Tulane
Daniel led Tulane to a pair of wins over Temple and UAB, averaging 14.5 points and seven rebounds.
