IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s basketball honors for the 11
th week of the regular season.
Player of the Week
David Green, Gr., F, Tulsa
Green helped Tulsa to two conference wins this week by averaging 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Against Charlotte on January 14, the graduate student dropped 21 points and three assists in a win over Charlotte and followed that up with a 26-point, 7-rebound, 3-assist performance in a big win over UAB on January 18.
Freshman of the Week
Josiah Parker, F, Florida Atlantic
Parker aided the Owls to two league wins and to the top of the American standings by averaging 14.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. After recording six points and six rebounds against Wichita State on January 15, the freshman dropped a big double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds in a come-from-behind overtime win at Temple on January 18.
Honorable Mention
KyeRon Lindsay-Martin, Jr., F, UAB
Averaged 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds as the Blazers split a pair of conference matchups.
Kanaan Carlyle, Jr., G, Florida Atlantic
Carlyle aided the Owls to the top of the American standings by averaging 12.5 points and 3.5 assists in two wins.
Curtis Givens III, So., G, Memphis
Averaged 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds as the Tigers defeated Temple and UTSA.
David Terrell Jr., Jr., G, North Texas
Dropped 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists as the Mean Green defeated Tulane on the road on January 18.
Trae Broadnax, Gr., G, Rice
Recorded 20 points and seven assists as the Owls took down UTSA on January 14.
