IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the second week of the regular season.
 
Attack Player of the Week
Payton Root, Sophomore, James Madison
Root tallied a total of 11 points on six goals and five assists as the Dukes defeated Virginia Tech and UConn.
 
Midfielder of the Week
Sabrina Martin, Senior, Temple
Martin stuffed the stat sheet last week with five goals, one assist, three ground balls, four caused turnovers and five draw controls over wins over Saint Joseph’s and American.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Reese Cuviello, Sophomore, James Madison
Cuviello picked up seven ground balls, caused six turnovers and earned two draw controls as the Dukes defeated Virginia Tech and UConn.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Emme Martin, Sophomore, Vanderbilt
Martin recorded 10 saves, including five in the fourth quarter, as Vanderbilt defeated Mercer, 14-11.
 
Freshman of the Week
Gabby Putman, M, Vanderbilt
Putman scored a goal and earned nine draw controls in the Commodores’ 14-11 win over Mercer.
 
Honorable Mention
Abigail Beattie, Sophomore, Goalkeeper, James Madison
Made 15 saves over two wins over Virginia Tech and UConn.
 
Harlow Healey, Sophomore, Midfielder, James Madison
Earned 18 draw controls over two wins, including 14 against Virginia Tech.
 
Sofia Chepenik, Redshirt Junior, Attack, South Florida
Scored six goals against No. 19 Michigan.
 
Lexi Culp, Senior, Attack, Temple
Totaled seven goals and four assists in wins over Saint Joseph’s and American.
 
Nancy Halleron, Graduate Student, Attack, Vanderbilt
Scored four goals in the Commodores’ win over Mercer.
