Rice's Adams, Tulane's Kimpson Earn Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 22.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hailey Adams, R-Jr., G, Rice
Adams helped push the Owls one game closer to clinching the top seed in the American Conference Championship, averaging 12 points and 16 rebounds in wins over South Florida and East Carolina. She shot 60 percent from the floor and added 2.5 blocks per game and two assists per game.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Shiloh Kimpson, Fr., G, Tulane
Kimpson was a stat stuffer in a pair of wins over Memphis, averaging 8.5 assists, seven points and five rebounds in the wins. She had a career-high 12 points in the second win against Memphis.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Aysia Proctor, Jr., G, North Texas
Proctor averaged 19 points and 3.5 rebounds in wins over UAB and Charlotte.
 
Savannah Curry, So., F, Temple
Curry scored 16 points and grabbed 6.5 rebounds per game in wins over Charlotte and Memphis.
 
Amira Mabry, Sr., F, Tulane
Mabry was instrumental in a pair of wins over Memphis, scoring 12 points and five rebounds to help push Tulane closer to clinching a spot in the championship field.
 
Hannah Riddick, R-Sr., F, Tulsa
Riddick scored 17 points and came down with eight rebounds in the 17-point come from behind win over UAB, scoring 11 points in the final quarter alone.
 
Jaila Harding, Gr., G, Wichita State
Harding scored 19 points in the 62-61 win over UTSA and set the single-season Shocker record for made three-pointers.
