IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the second week of the regular season.
Attack Player of the Week
Sofia Chepenik, Redshirt Junior, South Florida
Chepenik scored four goals in both Bull wins last week, against Stetson and Mercer. She had 17 points for the week on eight goals and one assist.
Midfielder of the Week
Kali Cleary, Sophomore, South Florida
Across two wins, Cleary scored two goals, picked up two ground balls and collected 12 draw controls, including eight against Mercer.
Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Magazu, Graduate Student, East Carolina
Magazu picked up four ground balls and caused three turnovers in the Pirate win over Elon.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Riley Horoshko, Senior, Temple
Horoshko recorded 25 saves across Owl victories against Rider and UMass Lowell.
Freshman of the Week
Kalina Johnson, Midfield, South Florida
Johnson scored three goals, picked up one ground ball and caused one turnover over wins over Stetson and Mercer.
Honorable Mention
Jaime Behar, Senior, Goalkeeper, East Carolina
Made seven saves in a 12-9 win over Elon.
Rachel Chessock, Senior, Attack, East Carolina
Scored four goals, caused one turnover and collected one draw control in the win over Elon.
Kayla Wilkes, Senior, Midfield, East Carolina
Scored two goals, assisted on three scores and recorded three ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control.
Sabrina Martin, Senior, Midfield, Temple
Scored three goals and two assists while picking up four ground balls and seven draw controls in two wins.
Amelia Wright, Graduate Student, Attack, Temple
Scored six goals with one assist in two wins.
