Memphis' Parker, South Florida's Hightower Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s basketball honors for the 14th week of the regular season.
 
Player of the Week
Sincere Parker, Sr., G, Memphis
Parker averaged 25.5 points and 4.0 rebounds coming off the bench in two Tiger wins last week, including a conference-season high 40 points in 26 minutes at UAB on February 5. He became the first Division I player since at least 1996-97 to record 40 points, six 3-pointers and shoot 100 percent at the free throw line (6-for-6) in 26 minutes or less. He also is only the fifth player in D1 this season with 40 points off the bench.
 
Freshman of the Week
Gavin Hightower, G, South Florida
Hightower had the best game of his collegiate career against UTSA on February 4, scoring 21 points on 8-of-8 shooting with three assists in the Bulls’ 109-88 win.
 
Honorable Mention
Chance Westry, Jr., G, UAB
Averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 assists as the Blazers split a pair of games last week.
 
Trae Broadnax, Gr., G, Rice
Recorded an average of 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games last week for the Owls.
 
Izaiyah Nelson, Sr., F, South Florida
Scored 25 points each in two victories for the Bulls while averaging 7.5 rebounds.
 
Aiden Tobiason, So., G, Temple
Dropped 27 points and six rebounds in an Owl win at East Carolina on February 7.
 
Karon Boyd, Sr., F, Wichita State
Averaged 18.0 points in Shocker victories over Charlotte and Tulane.
