IRVING, Texas – American Conference regular season champion Rice has been selected to the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). The Owls earned the automatic bid from the American.
 
This 32-team postseason event will be played March 20 (first-round), March 23 (second-round) and March 27 (quarterfinals), with the highest-seeded teams hosting games at campus sites. WBIT semifinal and final games will be conducted at Butler University’s historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 31 and April 2.
 
Rice (28-5) earned a three seed and will open the WBIT against Louisiana Tech (26-6) on March 19 in Houston, Texas on ESPN+. Tip times are still to be determined.
