IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s lacrosse honors:
Attack Player of the Week
Olivia Matthews, So., Attack, James Madison
Matthews totaled eight points in pair of wins this week. She scored a career-high five goals and added two assists in a win over East Carolina.
Midfielder of the Week
Gabby Putman, Fr., Vanderbilt
Putman had 12 draw controls, one goal, and one assist in two games, including a career-high tying nine draw controls in a win over Xavier.
Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia Rongo, Sr., Defender, James Madison
Rongo tallied eight ground balls and caused eight turnovers in a pair of wins for the Dukes, highlighted by four ground balls, five forced turnovers, and one ground control in a win over Liberty.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Riley Horoshko, Sr., Temple
Horoshko posted 11 saves in a conference match vs. South Florida.
Freshman of the Week
Jolie Schiavo, Midfielder, James Madison
Schiavo scored three goals and added two ground balls, 1 caused turnover, and one assist in wins over Liberty and East Carolina.
Honorable Mention
Katie Gorski, So., Attack, Charlotte
Had three goals and four assists in a win over Old Dominion.
Abigail Beattie, So., Goalkeeper, James Madison
Beattie made seven key saves in wins over Liberty and East Carolina.
Kaitlyn Stankavage, Sr., Defender, Temple
Had a career high four ground balls and tied a career high with three caused turnovers.
Cora Betten, Fr., Defender, Vanderbilt
Recorded five draw controls with three ground balls and one caused turnover.
