IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s basketball honors for the 17th week of the regular season.
Player of the Week
Jordan Riley, Sr., G, East Carolina
Riley averaged 29.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 4.0 steals in a pair of wins. In a tough road win at UTSA, he scored 27 points with four rebounds, three assists, and six steals. Riley then scored 31 points with 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals in home win over Memphis. It was his seventh 30-point game and fourth double-double of the season.
Freshman of the Week
Josiah Parker, G, Florida Atlantic
Parker averaged 9.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in two home victories last week. He scored nine points with 11 rebounds over Temple. Parker hit a driving layup with 0.6 seconds to play in an overtime win over Charlotte as he finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Honorable Mention
Kanaan Carlyle, Junior, G, Florida Atlantic
Averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in a pair of wins.
Isaiyah Nelson, Senior, F, South Florida
Averaged 19.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists as the Bulls earned a share of the regular season title.
David Green, Graduate, F, Tulsa
Scored 19 points with five rebounds and four assists in the Hurricanes’ road win over Tulane.
Jamir Simpson, Graduate, G, UTSA
Averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in playing every minute in two games last week.
Kenyon Giles, Senior, G, Wichita State
Averaged 25.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in two wins for the Shockers.
