STILLWATER, Okla. — The Wichita State Shockers won at No. 2 Oklahoma State 96-70 Sunday night in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament.
The win by the No. 3 Shockers (24-11) sets up an all-American Conference matchup in the NIT Quarterfinals against No. 1 seed Tulsa March 24 or 25.
Kenyon Giles' game-high 28 points, including eight three-pointers, set the pace for the Shockers. Giles scored 18 points in the second half as Wichita State outscored Oklahoma State 52-33 in the second half.
Giles was one of five Shockers in double figures. Karon Boyd and Michael Gray Jr. each scored 13 points, while Dillon Battie added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The bench played a key role in the outcome. Dre Kindell scored 11 points, Will Berg added nine points and eight rebounds, and T.J. Williams scored four points with 10 rebounds.
Tied at 48-all with just over 16 minutes to play in the second half, a Giles' three-pointer with 15:43 to play sparked a scoring spree in which the Shockers outscored Oklahoma State 48-22 over the remainder of the game.
