PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Kaden Smith, So., RHP, South Florida
Smith turned in a stellar outing for South Florida in a 1-0 win over UAB on April 19 in the final game of a three-game series. Smith surrendered no runs on only two hits in seven full innings of work, walking three while striking out six UAB batters in a quality start for the Bulls.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Drew Detlefsen, Sr., LF, UTSA
Detlefsen batted .381/.409/.667 in a 2-2 week for UTSA, adding a home run and six RBI while scoring seven runs. Detlefsen turned in three multi-hit games against Baylor and Charlotte (twice), and a pair of multi-RBI and multi-run performances against both the Bears and 49ers.
HONORABLE MENTION
Joseph Webb, Sr., RHP, East Carolina
Webb finished the week 1-0 with one save in two relief appearances for ECU, allowing no runs on three hits with 11 strikeouts over 6.1 innings pitched against Wichita State in back-to-back Pirate victories.
John Martinez, R-So., 2B, Florida Atlantic
Martinez batted .438/.500/.938 with two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored in a 2-2 FAU week, which included two multi-hit games, two multi-RBI games and two multi-run games against FGCU and Tulane.
Michael Gupton, Sr., OF, Memphis
Gupton finished the week with a .400/.471/.867 batting line with two home runs, five RBI and three runs in a 4-0 Memphis week.
Logan Rushing, Grad, LHP, Memphis
Rushing went 1-0 and allowed no runs on two hits in two appearances, striking out eight over six full innings for 4-0 Memphis.
Connor Kelley, Jr, RHP, UTSA
Kelley notched a 1-0 record and a spotless ERA in two appearances last week for UTSA, scattering four hits over 6.2 innings of work against Baylor and Charlotte.
