James Madison, Temple, Vanderbilt Athletes Earn Weekly Women's Lacrosse Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s lacrosse honors: 
 
Attack Player of the Week 
Payton Root, So., James Madison 
Root wins the honor for the second straight week after totaling 10 points, with consecutive five-point games against Pittsburgh and Charlotte.  
 
Defensive Player of the Week 
Reese Cuviello, So., James Madison 
Cuviello tallied nine draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers against Pittsburgh and Charlotte. 
 
Freshman of the Week 
Brooke Mazzei, M, Temple 
Mazzei totaled two goals, three ground balls, one caused turnover and three draw controls in a win vs. Old Dominion.  
 
Goalkeeper of the Week 
Emme Martin, So., Vanderbilt 
Recorded eight saves, including five in the fourth quarter of a win over East Carolina. 
 
Midfielder of the Week 
Sabrina Martin, Sr., Temple 
Martin scored two goals, had a career-high four assists, and six draw controls in win over Old Dominion. 
 
 
HONORABLE MENTION 
 
Natalie Eastwood, So., G, South Florida 
Eastwood made 16 saves in a pair of games for the Bulls. 
 
Kaitlyn Tartaglione, R-Sr., M, South Florida    
Tartaglione totaled three goals and six draw controls in two matches. 
 
Kaitlyn Stankavage, Sr., D, Temple 
Stankavage had three caused turnovers, one assist, three ground balls and five draw controls.  
 
Gabby Putman, Fr., M, Vanderbilt 
Putman scored four goals with five ground balls, and two caused turnovers in win over East Carolina. 
 
Hayden Miller, Fr., Att., Vanderbilt 
Miller tallied first career hat trick and had two assists.
