IRVING, Texas – Seeding is set for the 2026 American Conference Baseball Championship, to be held at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida, from May 20-24.
The tournament will be played in a modified double-elimination format through the semifinal round after a single elimination first round on May 20. The championship final is a winner-take-all matchup on May 24, which will determine the American’s automatic entrant to the NCAA Championship.
Live coverage of the first four days of the championship will be available on ESPN+, while the final will take place on May 24 at noon ET/11 a.m. CT on ESPNEWS and ESPN+. The action begins on May 20 when No. 6 Florida Atlantic (28-27, 12-15 American) takes on No. 7 Wichita State (28-27, 12-15 at 1 p.m. Eastern, followed by No. 5 Memphis (22-32, 13-14) against No. 8 Charlotte (28-27, 12-15) 47 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. In the two games scheduled for May 21, No. 3 Rice (34-22, 16-11) takes on the winner of game one at 1 p.m. Eastern, followed by No. 4 UAB (31-24, 15-12) against the winner of game two 47 minutes after the conclusion of the day’s opener. No. 2 East Carolina (33-21-1, 17-10) will make its tournament debut on May 22 at 9 a.m. Eastern against the game three winner, with top-seeded UTSA (36-19, 17-10) kicking off its tournament schedule against the game four winner 47 minutes following the first game on May 22.
UTSA claimed a share of the American regular-season title for a second straight season in 2026. Defending American tournament champion East Carolina joined UTSA atop the final standings on the last day of the regular season.
