BROOKLYN, New York - South Florida senior forward Izaiyah Nelson heard his named called on Wednesday after being selected in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
Nelson, the 2026 American Conference Player of the Year, was selected in the second round with the 51st overall pick by the Washington WIzards before being traded to the Orlando Magic. He was the first player in league history to be named Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the same season and became the first Bull selected in the NBA draft since 2010 (Dominique Jones, Memphis Grizzlies).
Nelson led the NCAA with 89 dunks and added 48 blocks, 56 steals, and 29 double-digit scoring games (nine scoring 20 points or more) on the year, and scored 22 points and with nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals in the Bulls' NCAA Tournament first round loss to Louisville.
