IRVING, Texas — Three American Conference players have been named to the 2026 Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List, announced by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Tuesday. The trophy is presented annually to the standout interior lineman in college football.
Florida Atlantic defensive lineman CJ Doggette Jr. earned a spot on the list entering his second season in Boca Raton. In 12 games played last season, Doggette recorded 28 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four sacks for the Owls.
Army center Brady Small returns to the watch list for a second straight season. The line leader helped Army field the No. 4 rushing attack in the nation a season ago, as the Black Knights averaged 254.9 yards per game.
South Florida guard Caleb Cook rounds out The American's representatives on the list. A transfer from Georgia Southern, Cook was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection last season, starting all 13 games for the Eagles.
