IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors for the week ending on Sunday, September 6.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Tony Kim, Sr., F, UAB
Kim scored three goals and collected one assist in a pair of wins over Mercer and USC Upstate. He scored the game-winning goals in both matches, scoring the lone goal in the 15th minute against Mercer and scoring his second goal of the game in the 56th minute against USC Upstate.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Dino Stavros, Sr., D, Memphis
Stavros finished the week with three assists, recording his first career assist in the win over Butler before assisting on the game-winner against UNC Asheville.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Alfred Mikkelsen, Sr., Florida Atlantic
Mikkelsen recorded three saves in a 0-0 draw against Cleveland State to record his fourth clean sheet in five matches this season.
 
Freshman of the Week
Ben Furlong, Fr., M, Missouri State
Furlong recorded an assist on the game-tying goal in the 2-1 win over UC Irvine.
 
Honorable Mention
Ole Jessen, Jr., D, UAB
Jessen scored a goal and recorded an assist in the 4-3 win over USC Upstate.
 
Noah Kasin, Jr., GK, Memphis
Kasin recorded five saves to record a pair of wins over Butler and UNC Asheville.
 
Miller Lashlee, So., F, Memphis
Lashlee scored three goals and logged two assists in a pair of wins over Butler and UNC Asheville.
 
Kei Kinoshita, 5th, M, Missouri State
Kinoshita made the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over UC Irvine.

Asante scored a goal in the 24th minute in a 2-1 loss to No. 13 South Carolina
