Milton, Williams Collect Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shake Milton · Jr. · G · SMU · Owasso, Okla.
Milton collects his second player of the week honor of the season after leading SMU to a 2-0 week, including a win over No. 14/18 USC. Milton had 22 points in each of the Mustangs’ victories, knocking down four three-pointers against the Trojans. The American Preseason Player of the Year added nine assists in the win, matching the second-highest total in the conference this year.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Shawn Williams · R-Fr. · G · ECU · Little Rock, Ark.
In a 2-0 week for ECU, Williams came off the bench to average 13.5 ppg for the Pirates. In ECU’s overtime win over UNCW, Williams posted 15 points in 21 minutes of action. The redshirt-freshman followed up the effort with 12 points, including the game-clinching free throws, against Delaware State.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Devin Davis · R-Sr. · F · Houston · Indianapolis, Ind.
Davis exploded for 28 points and 10 rebounds in Houston’s 26-point win over Arkansas, posting his conference-leading third double-double of the season. Davis’ 28 points were a career-high as he went 10-of-14 from the floor. In two Houston wins last week, Davis averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
 
Terrell Allen · R-So. · G · UCF · Upper Marlboro, Md.
Allen led UCF to the program’s first-ever true road win over a ranked opponent, posting 16 points, eight assists and four steals in the Knights’ 65-62 victory at No. 24 Alabama. In a split of results against SEC opponents, Allen averaged 12.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 2.0 spg.
 
Christian Vital · So. · G · UConn · Queens Village, N.Y.
Vital was instant offense for UConn in a 2-0 week. The sophomore came off the bench to post 29 points in the Huskies’ win over Columbia, knocking down seven three-pointers in the process. Moving into the starting lineup against Monmouth, Vital had 19 points, going 11-for-13 at the free-throw line.
 
Conner Frankamp · Sr. · G · Wichita State · Wichita, Kan.
The senior knocked down five three-pointers, scoring a team-high 17 points as No. 8 Wichita State snapped No. 16 Baylor’s 46-game, non-conference home winning streak. Frankamp has now hit a three-pointer in 29 straight games, tying a Wichita State record.
 
B.J. Tyson · Sr. · G · ECU · Wadesboro, N.C.
Playing 79 of a possible 85 minutes across two games, Tyson averaged 19.5 points in two ECU wins, including a 30-point effort against UNCW. Tyson was the first Pirate to hit the 30-point mark in three years.
