PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving honors for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 27.
 
Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Marek Osina * So. * East Carolina
Osina swept the competition in the 100 backstroke (:50.04), 200 backstroke (1:49.23) and 200 IM (1:51.00) for East Carolina in a dual triumph over UNC Wilmington.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Zarena Brown * Sr. * Houston
Brown claimed wins in the 50 freestyle (:23.65, second-fastest time in The American this season), 100 freestyle (:50.98, fastest time in The American this season) and the 200 freestyle (1:49.10, fastest time in The American this season) to guide Houston to a dual victory over SMU.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Rodrigo Romero * Fr. * East Carolina
Romero earned a victory in the 1-meter dive with 332.70 points and added a win off the 3-meter board with 389.25 points to help lead East Carolina past UNC Wilmington in a dual matchup.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Claire Schuermann * Sr. * Cincinnati
Schuermann claimed the win in the 1-meter dive with 279.00 points to go along with the top spot off the 3-meter board with 290.40 points in a dual win against Denison in Cincinnati.
