GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Matt Milon scored 17 points and Collin Smith added 14 points and seven rebounds as UCF defeated East Carolina, 68-64, on Thursday night.
The Knights led 62-45 with 5:17 remaining. East Carolina then scored the next nine points before Caesar DeJesus hit a jumper to put UCF up by eight with 1:38 to go. Four free throws by Dazon Ingram were enough to preserve the win for the Knights.
Darin Green Jr. added 13 points and Ingram had six points, 10 assists and seven rebounds for UCF (12-10, 3-7 American Athletic Conference).
Tristen Newton scored a season-high 23 points for the Pirates (9-14, 3-7). Jayden Gardner added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Bitumba Baruti had six rebounds.
UConn 72, (rv) Tulsa 56 -

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- James Bouknight had a season-high 22 points as UConn topped Tulsa 72-56 on Thursday night and knocked the Golden Hurricane out of first place in the American Athletic Conference.
The victory was the first for the Huskies at Tulsa, after losing five previous games there. Tulsa dropped to 11-2 at home and a half-game behind the new conference leaders, Cincinnati and Houston (both 8-2).
Alterique Gilbert had 17 points for UConn (12-10, 3-6), which snapped its five-game road losing streak. Christian Vital added 10 points. Isaiah Whaley had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Martins Igbanu scored a career-high 29 points for the Golden Hurricane (15-7, 7-2), whose six-game winning streak came to an end. Brandon Rachal added seven rebounds.
UConn made 10 of 22 shots from the 3-point arc while Tulsa was only 1 of 12.
The Huskies evened the season series against the Golden Hurricane with the win. Tulsa defeated UConn 79-75 on Jan. 26.
Cincinnati 80, (rv) Wichita State 79 -

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Jarron Cumberland converted a go-ahead three-point play with 3.5 seconds remaining to lift Cincinnati to an 80-79 win over Wichita State on Thursday night.
Cincinnati led for most of the game but Wichita State took its first lead since midway through the first half on Dexter Dennis' 3-pointer with 58 seconds remaining for a 76-75 lead. Cumberland answered with two free throws before Grant Sherfield made Wichita State's eighth 3-pointer for a two-point lead.
After a timeout with 2.5 to go, Erik Stevenson inbounded the ball and got it back but his 3-pointer was off the mark at the buzzer.
Cumberland, the reigning American Athletic Conference player of the year, finished with 24 points. Keith Williams had 17 points for Cincinnati (15-7, 8-2), which earned its fifth straight win. Chris Vogt added 12 points and three blocks, and Tre Scott had 11 rebounds.
Jaime Echenique had 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for the Shockers (17-5, 5-4). Dennis added 16 points and Jamarius Burton had 13 points.
No. 25 Houston 75, Tulane 62 -

HOUSTON (AP) -- Caleb Mills had 18 points, Quentin Grimes added 15 and No. 25 Houston beat Tulane, 75-62, on Thursday night.
Nate Hinton added 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for Houston (18-5, 8-2 American). The Cougars bounced back after losing to Cincinnati, 64-62, on Saturday. Houston is 15-0 after a loss over the last three seasons.
Teshaun Hightown had 17 points, K.J. Lawson added 13 points and Nobal Days scored 10 points to lead the Green Wave (10-12, 2-8).
Houston shot 54% and made 10 3-pointers. The Cougars also outrebounded Tulane 37-27 and held a 38-18 advantage in points in the paint.
Tulane lost its sixth straight.
Houston used a 24-4 run over a 10-minute stretch of the first half to open up a 29-10 lead on a jumper by Grimes with 4:40 left in the half. Grimes had seven points to lead the run. The Cougars led 39-21 at the half and Tulane got no closer than 10 in the second half.
