USF's Baldin Named Semifinalist for MAC Hermann Trophy

USF senior midfielder Lucas Baldin was one of 16 semifinalists announced by The National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) for the MAC Hermann Trophy on Dec. 2.

Baldin had a breakout year in his final season donning the Green and Gold, tying for the team lead in goals (five), assists (nine) and points (19), all career highs.

The Taubate, Brazil native automatically earned a spot as a semifinalist after winning the MAC Hermann Fan’s Choice vote last month, posting over 1,000 more votes than second-place finisher Andy Craven of North Carolina.

Also with the voting of college coaches, fan voting will also play a part in which three players advance to the final round of voting for college soccer’s most prestigious honor. Voting opens today and runs through Dec. 11 on LockerDome.com. You can vote in the poll by clicking HERE.

The three finalists will be announced in early December and invited to an annual banquet held at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, where a winner will be crowned.
