No. 17/15 UCF, UConn and East Carolina each wrapped up play at their respective tournaments on Sunday.
Mackenzie Audas tossed a one-hit complete-game shutout to lead UCG to a 2-0 win over LIU Brooklyn at the Wilson/DeMarini Invitational on Sunday. Audas (7-0) had a no-hitter through six complete innings, but her bid for a UCF Softball record fifth no-hitter came to an end with a leadoff double in the seventh inning. She finished with eight strikeouts in her third shutout of the season. Kahley Novak went 1-for-2 with one run in the win.
Despite a pair of hits from Alyssa Gardea, UConn dropped an 8-4 decision to Samford at Jane B. Moore Field on the final day of the 2015 Wilson/DeMarini Tournament in Auburn, Ala. Senior RHP Lauren Duggan (2-3) took the loss in 7.0 innings. Gardea and Heather Fyfe each recorded multi-hit games, combining to go 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs.
East Carolina (ECU) dropped a pair of one-run contests to Illinois and Georgia State on the final day of the USF Under Armour Invitational. ECU fell to the Fighting Illini, 7-6, before coming up just short against the Panthers, 4-3. The Pirates fell to 6-11 on the year with the pair of losses while Illinois moved to 7-11. Georgia State improved to 10-2.
