The Huskies took the lead in the first inning when Taylor Townsend singled to get on base and then scored on a wild pitch. Alyson Ambler added another run when she crossed the plate on Jacklyn Dubois’ double down the left field line. UConn held the 2-0 lead until the top of the sixth when the Minutewomen scored a pair of runs on three hits and wild pitches to tie the game 2-2. With a tie score at the conclusion of the seventh inning, the teams continued play until the Huskies were able to score in the ninth.
