CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- B.J. Taylor had 21 points to lead UCF past College of Charleston and into the finals of the Charleston Classic with a 60-40 victory Friday night.

The Knights (3-0) will play No. 3 Villanova on Sunday night and used some solid defense to do it. UCF held the Cougars (3-1) to 26.8 percent shooting overall (15 of 56) and 15.8 percent on 3-pointers (3 of 19).

Things should be more of a challenge against Villanova, which defeated Wake Forest 96-77 earlier Friday to make the championship game.

Matt Williams and Tank Efianayi had 10 points each for the Knights. 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall had nine points and nine rebounds, playing just 21 minutes because of foul trouble.

Not that UCF needed the game's tallest player to get past Charleston, which made only six field goals in the second half.

Jarrell Brantley and Grant Riller had 11 points each to lead Charleston.

Arizona State 80, Tulane 71
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- Torian Graham scored 22 points and Shannon Evans II had 21 to lift Arizona State to an 80-71 victory over Tulane in the loser's bracket of the Tire Pros Invitational on Friday night.

Sam Cunliffe scored 10 for the Sun Devils (3-1), who pulled away from Tulane in the final seven minutes.

Tulane (1-3) got 22 points from Melvin Frazier Jr. and 17 from Cameron Reynolds, but the Green Wave offense fizzled when the game was still within reach.

ASU had an 11-point lead at halftime, but couldn't shake the Green Wave until late in the second half.

Tulane found some room taking the ball to the basket against ASU's man-to-man defense and cut the deficit to just 61-58 when Von Julien scored on a driving layup with 7:02 left in the game.

Ramon Villa woke up the Devils' offense with a follow-shot jam and Graham followed with a driving layup and 3-pointer that pushed the lead back to a more comfortable 68-58 with just under five minutes left.

The Green Wave never got closer than seven the rest of the game.

ASU reserve Kodi Justice slammed the door shut with a 3-pointer with 50 seconds to play that made it 78-66.

Arizona State outscored Tulane 17-6 in the last five minutes of the first half to take a 40-29 lead. Evans and Graham, timid for most of the half, started driving hard on every possession and igniting the Sun Devils' offense.

Evans scored 11 points and had three assists for the half, while Graham hit four of seven shots and scored 10 points.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Derrick Walton Jr. hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead Michigan to a 76-54 victory over SMU on Friday night in the championship game of the 2K Classic Benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.

Walton, who had six assists, was held scoreless in the Wolverines' opening-round win over Marquette being saddled with foul trouble throughout the game. He didn't get a chance to play in SMU's 24-point win over Michigan last season as he missed the game with a sprained ankle.

He was not only playing this time, he was hitting from 3-point range to keep the Mustangs at bay. The closest they got in the second half was 13 points when they hit two 3s to open the second half.

Walton was 4 of 6 from 3 in the first half as Michigan took control right away and went on to a 44-25 halftime lead.

Zak Irvin, the tournament MVP, added 16 points for the Wolverines (4-0), while Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman had 12.

Ben Moore led SMU (3-1) with 12 points, one of four Mustangs in double figures. Semi Ojeleye had 11, while Jarrey Foster and Sterling Brown each finished with 10.
