PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Obi Enechionyia scored 26 points, including a dagger of a 3-pointer with 1:09 to play after he blocked a shot, and Temple defeated Saint Joseph's 78-72 on Wednesday night for its fourth-straight win.
Enechionyia buried six 3-pointers and was 10-for-22 shooting overall. Quentin Rose added 14 points for the Owls (5-2) and freshman Shizz Alston Jr. scored 11 with five assists.
Nick Robinson, 11 points, had pulled Saint Joseph's within 73-72 when he converted a three-point play with 2:36 remaining, but the Hawks (3-3) went scoreless after that. Shavar Newkirk led Saint Joseph's with 22 points, including four 3-pointers, and added five assists.
Last season's starting point guard Josh Brown, who missed Temple's first six games (Achilles), came off the bench for four points.
The unranked Owls have regular-season victories over two ranked teams -- No. 25 Florida State and No. 19 West Virginia -- for the first time in the program's history.
UConn 51, Boston University 49
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Freshman Christian Vital scored 13 points and UConn held off Boston University 51-49 on Wednesday night.
Kentan Facey added eight points and seven rebounds for the Huskies (3-4), who picked up their first home win, despite shooting just 32 percent from the field.
UConn led for more than 27 minutes, but never by more than eight points.
A free throw by Jalen Adams made it 51-48 with three seconds left and UConn fouled Terrier's guard Kyle Foreman in the backcourt with just under two seconds left to prevent the Terriers from attempting a 3-pointer. He missed his second free throw on purpose, but Facey was able to pull down the rebound.
The teams combined to hit just 14 of the 54 shots taken in the first half and UConn led 21-17 going into the break.
BU hasn't beaten the Huskies since 1986. UConn leads the series 43-12.
UCF 81, Stetson 57
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- B.J. Taylor scored 18 points, Matt Williams 16 and Central Florida defeated Stetson 81-45 on Wednesday night.
Tacko Fall, who came in leading the nation with a 78.3 field-goal percentage, made all four of his shots and finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Chad Brown also scored 12 points and A.J. Davis had 11 rebounds.
The Knights (5-1) entered the game leading the American Athletic Conference in points allowed (55) and field-goal percentage defense (31.8) and bettered both marks, holding the Hatters (3-5) to 22.1 percent.
Derick Newton scored 15 points, though was only 4-of-14 shooting, for Stetson, which has lost five of its last six games.
Stetson was only 8 of 31 (25.8 percent) and UCF 5 of 21 (23.8) from the arc, but the Knights had a whopping 54-36 edge on the boards.
UCF led from the opening minute and was up 36-19 at halftime.
Memphis 84, Jackson State 69
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- K.J. Lawson scored 18 points and younger brother Dedric Lawson added 17 as Memphis led for almost the entire game to defeat Jackson State 84-69 on Wednesday despite a cold-shooting second half.
Dedric Lawson also grabbed 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double in seven games and recorded five blocked shots. He tied a Memphis freshman record with 17 double-doubles last season. Markel Crawford scored 15 and Jimario Rivers 13 for Memphis (6-1).
