VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) -- Josh Hart shook off a slow start to score 26 points and lead No. 1 Villanova to its 17th straight win, 78-57 over Temple on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats (11-0) haven't lost since the Big East championship game. They won six straight in the postseason to win the NCAA championship and have been flawless this season. The Wildcats fattened their record against Philly teams and finished 4-0 in the Big 5 city series.

Hart missed his first five shots after missing four total shots in a 37-point effort last week against Notre Dame. He hit a runner at the first-half buzzer to spark a sensational second half: Hart made consecutive 3s that made it 49-31 and blew the game open.

Hart was about as well-rounded offensively as any player of the year candidate this season. He attacked the rim and converted three-point plays and absolutely dominated when needed against a Temple program with a recent history of knocking off nationally ranked Wildcat teams.

Jalen Brunson scored 13 points for the Wildcats.

Shizz Alston Jr. led Temple (7-4) with 12 points.

CINCINNATI -- Freshman Jarron Cumberland scored a career-high 18 points -- all in the second half -- as No. 25 Cincinnati pulled away to its most lopsided victory of the season, 96-58 over Texas Southern on Tuesday night.

Cincinnati (8-2) was coming off a 75-65 loss at Butler on Saturday. The Bearcats used their pronounced height advantage to take control on defense, repeatedly misdirecting shots. The Tigers made only 30 percent from the field.

Demontrae Jefferson scored 13 points for Texas Southern (4-6), which is in a stretch of 16 straight road games to open the season.

Jacob Evans III had a jumper, a layup and a 3-pointer during a 13-0 run that put Cincinnati in control late in the first half. The Bearcats led by as many as 41 points.

Evans was hit in the face during a scrum going for the ball early in the second half and stayed on his back, prompting a timeout. He was woozy as he walked off toward the locker room, holding his forehead. He returned midway through the half and finished with 10 points.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Justin Robinson scored 21 points and made a pair of free throws with 14.2 seconds left as Monmouth held off Memphis 82-79 on Tuesday night to match a program-record eighth-straight win.

Markel Crawford made a layup to give the Tigers their last lead, 79-78 with 1:20 remaining. Memphis forced a turnover on Monmouth's next possession. The Tigers ran down the clock, yet turned the ball over without shooting with 29 seconds to play.
Memphis had another chance to regain the lead after Robinson made his free throws, but Josh James forced a driving Jeremiah Martin out of bounds with a second to go. The Tigers fouled Je'lon Hornbeak with 0.6 seconds left and he made two free throws to seal it.

Hornbeak also scored 21 points for Monmouth (9-2).

Dedric Lawson had 18 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists to lead Memphis (7-3), which lost for the first time at home this season.

The Tigers had a 12-point lead early in the second half.
