Highlights

• Three different players (Abdou Mbacke Thiam, Alex Sanchez, Nkosi Burgess) scored for RV/16 UConn in the Huskies' 3-1 win over Iona Friday at Morrone Stadium. UConn is 8-1-1 in season openers since 2008.

• Rookie Jackson Morse scored the game-winning goal for Memphis and GK Jake Leeker stopped seven shots in the Tigers' 1-0 shutout of UAB Friday in Birmingham, Ala. It marked the first win over the Blazers since 2012 and the first in Birmingham since 2003.

• No. 19/17 played Michigan to a scoreless draw in the Bulls' home opener at Corbett Stadium. USF played a man down in the final 51 minutes of action.

• Temple scored three first-half goals en route to a 3-0 win over Manhattan Friday afternoon at the Temple Sports Complex. Hermann Doerner, Joonas Jokinen and Jorge Gomez Sanchez each found the back of the net for the Owls.
