GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Rob Gray scored 19 points, Armoni Brooks had 15 and Houston took control early and defeated East Carolina 74-58 on Wednesday night.

Wes Van Beck added 13 points on a perfect night of shooting and Damyean Dotson has 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (13-4, 4-1 American).

Gray had 13 points, Brooks -- who matched his career high- and Dotson, each had 12 points in the first half when Houston rolled to a 47-25 lead. The Cougars shot 54.5 percent (18 of 33) and were a blistering 11 of 16 from 3-point range. All of Dotson's points came on 3-pointers.

Houston scored the first nine points of the game on 3s and made its first six. Van Beck, Gray and Brooks each finished with three treys and Van Beck added a shot inside the arc and a pair of free throws.

East Carolina (9-8, 1-4), which lost its fourth straight, shot 29 percent in the first half, going 1 of 11 from 3-point range. The Pirates finished 3 of 22 behind the arc but outscored Houston 21-5 from the foul line.

Kentrell Barkley had 13 points for East Carolina and Caleb White and Andre Washington 12 each with Washington grabbing 11 rebounds.

Tulane 82, USF 68
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Kain Harris scored a career-high 27 points and Tulane beat South Florida 82-67 Wednesday night to snap a five-game skid.

Cameron Reynolds scored 14 points, Ryan Smith had 11, and Blake Paul 10 for the Green Wave (4-12, 1-3 American), which made 23 of 29 free throws (79.3 percent) and 7 of 23 from behind the arc.

Trailing 40-38 at halftime, South Florida rallied to a 45-44 lead on Troy Holston's layup with 14:58 left, but Tulane replied with a 13-2 run sparked by Reynolds' 3-pointer and led 57-47 with 12:37 to go. Harris' layup capped a 7-2 run for a 61-51 Tulane lead and the Green Wave won going away.

Malik Morgan had a career-high eight assists and Tulane converted 21 assists into 26 field goals.

Geno Thorpe scored 16 points for the Bulls (6-9, 0-4), who have lost four straight.

Tulsa 81, Memphis 71
TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Junior Etou had career-highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds, and Tulsa closed on a 16-5 run to beat Memphis 81-71 on Wednesday night.

Memphis had its last lead, 66-65, with 4:40 to play before Etou's layup sparked the Golden Hurricane's final run. Etou scored five points, Jaleel Wheeler added four points, and TK Edogi made a dunk during the stretch.

Sterling Taplin added 17 points and six assists for Tulsa (8-7, 2-1 American Athletic Conference), which outrebounded Memphis 41-29.

Dedric Lawson scored 26 points and made four 3-pointers to lead the Tigers (12-5, 2-2), who had its three-game win streak snapped. Jeremiah Martin added 20 for Memphis, which made just 13 of 23 free throws.

Tulsa had a 10-point lead with 16:41 remaining. The Tigers had a 16-5 spurt to take its first lead of the second half, 55-54, with 10:28 left. The game stayed within three until Tulsa's final push.

UConn 73, Temple 59
STORRS, Conn. (AP) -- Kentan Facey scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead UConn to its second straight conference win, 73-59 over Temple on Wednesday night.

The 6-foot-10 senior hit nine of his 11 shots for the Huskies (7-9, 2/3 American). Amida Brimah added 13 points and had six of UConn's nine blocked shots. Guard Jalen Adams scored 11 points, pulled down seven rebounds and had 12 assists.

Shizz Alston Jr. had 13 points to lead Temple (10-8, 1-4).

The Huskies led by 11 at halftime and a jumper by Facey stretched that to 45-28 early in the second half.

Temple was able to cut that back to single digits, before UConn stretched it back out. An alley-oop from Adams to Brimah pushed the lead back to 16 at 67-51 with 4 1/2 minutes remaining and that deficit was too much for Temple to overcome.
