PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Daniel Dingle scored 19 points, Ernest Aflakpui had a career-high 13 points with 10 rebounds and Temple beat East Carolina 81-62 on Saturday.
Aflakpui scored five straight points to start a 10-2 Temple run for a 62-48 lead midway through the second half and the Owls led by double digits the rest of the way.
Quinton Rose added 14 points and Mark Williams scored 13 off the bench while Obi Enechionyia had 12 for Temple (10-7, 1/3 American). Dingle also had five rebounds, six assists and three steals to help the Owls snap a three-game losing streak.
At halftime, Jim Williams ('66) and John Baum ('69) were inducted into the Temple Ring of Honor and will have their names permanently displayed in the Liacouras Center. Williams is the only Owl to lead his team in scoring and rebounding for three straight seasons. Baum, like Williams, is one of five Temple players to score over 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds.
B.J. Tyson, averaging a team-high 12.3 points, finished with just eight points on 4-of-12 shooting for East Carolina (9-8, 1-3), which lost its third game in a row.
SMU 84, USF 65
DALLAS (AP) -- Semi Ojeleye scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Jarrey Foster had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and SMU won its 10th straight on Saturday with an 84-65 win over South Florida.
Sterling Brown added a season-high 19 points to go with five rebounds and five assists for the Mustangs (14-3, 4-0 American Athletic), who have won 15 straight at home (11 this season).
South Florida (6-8, 0-3) led 11-10 early in the first half, but the Bulls scored just three points in the next eight minutes, allowing SMU to take a 28-14 lead with 6:55 left.
The Bulls pulled to 46-41 with 16:10 remaining but the Mustangs responded with a 6-0 run and led by as many as 23 in the second half.
Troy Holston led USF with 20 points and six 3-pointers, both career highs.
SMU outrebounded South Florida 39-23. The Mustangs have outrebounded all four conference opponents by at least 16.

HOUSTON (AP) -- Kyle Washington had 19 points and nine rebounds as No. 22 Cincinnati extended its winning streak to six games with a 67-58 victory over Houston on Saturday night.
Troy Caupain added 13 points, Jacob Evans had 12 and Gary Clark chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds for the Bearcats (13-2, 3-0 American Athletic Conference). Cincinnati shot only 39 percent but hit 10 of 24 from 3-point range.
The Bearcats used an 11-2 run over a three-minute stretch to take a 50-36 lead on two free throws by Kevin Johnson with 12:13 left. Washington had six points during the spurt.
Houston (12-4, 3-1) got no closer than six the rest of the way.
Rob Gray, who missed Houston's win Wednesday with the flu, led the Cougars with 21 points but was 0 for 7 on 3s. Wes VanBeck had 11 points and Damyean Dotson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Houston, which shot 37 percent and just 3 of 19 from beyond the arc.
The Bearcats led 23-11 with 9:36 remaining in the first half after a 3 by Evans, but Houston outscored Cincinnati 14-7 to close the period and cut the margin to five. Evans had nine points in the half to lead Cincinnati.
