USF Athletics Men's Soccer 09.06.17 Men's Soccer Continues Non-Conference Tilt Follow @American_MSoc COMPLETE NOTES • With just over two weeks remaining until conference play begins, the week ahead sees American teams facing four opponents that are ranked or receiving votes in the national rankings. • RV/NR SMU and Tulsa travel west to California for matchups at No. 1/1 Stanford and Santa Clara, respectively. The Mustangs take on the Cardinal Thursday night while the Hurricane squares off with the Broncos the same night at 11 p.m. ET. The two teams will swap opponents on Saturday when Tulsa faces Stanford and SMU battles Santa Clara that evening. • UConn, which took home two American weekly awards this week, continues its home stand hosting No. 18 Georgetown Saturday night at Morrone Stadium. Husky keeper Scott Levene leads the conference in goals against average (0.62). • UCF travels to Morgantown, West Virginia, on Saturday for a matchup against the 14th-ranked Mountaineers. The Knights recorded the first win in the Scott Calabrese era on Monday when they shut out Jacksonville, 4-0, on the road. Senior Matias Pyysalo scored his first career hat trick in the win over the Dolphins. • Cincinnati hosts in-state rival Xavier on Friday, while Memphis and Temple each travel for matchups at UMKC (Friday) and St. John’s (Saturday), respectively. The Tigers wrap up the weekend with a Sunday afternoon contest at Missouri State. USF, meanwhile, heads west for a contest at NR/RV Creighton on Friday.
