Cincinnati extends winning streak to 8 at Dayton in final nonconference match

Highlights
Cincinnati extended its winning streak to eight-straight matches in a 3-2 thriller at Dayton to wrap up its 2018 nonconference slate. The Bearcats improve to 7-2 in five-set matches, as outside and right side hitter Jordan Thompson collected her seventh-30-kill match this season.
 
After winning the first two sets, Dayton battled back to claim victories in the third and fourth frames. The fifth set was close, as Cincinnati pulled away with the final three points to clinch a 15-12 win and take the match. Thompson added 10 digs to earn her 11th double-double this year and also had six service aces, tying a season-high across The American. Middle blocker Jasmine Jones chipped in with seven kills, seven blocks and had no attacking errors on nine swings for a .778 hitting percentage.
 
Cincinnati returns to conference play this weekend, ending a five-match road stretch. The Bearcats will welcome USF and UCF to the gym. Sunday’s match between UCF and Cincinnati will be a battle between the two first-place teams in The American.
