UCF 3, Temple 1
UCF stormed back from an eight-point deficit in the fourth set to clinch a 3-1 win and extend its winning streak to 19-straight matches to remain unbeaten in conference play at 13-0. Freshman outside hitter McKenna Melville recorded 21 kills, six blocks and 10 digs on a .301 hitting clip for her conference-high 18th double-double of the season. The Knights knocked down 18 blocks in the win, as they have averaged double-digit stuffs per match during their swing. Middle blocker Nerissa Moravec had nine blocks and five kills while hitting .385. UCF remains two matches ahead of Cincinnati and three in front of Tulsa in first place. With the win, the Knights completed a season series sweep of Temple.
UConn 3, USF 1
UConn got back on track, sweeping the season series against USF on Saturday afternoon. UConn also defeated USF 3-2 in October. After dropping the second set, the Huskies won-out the last two by two points in each frame to complete a 3-1 victory. Three Huskies reached double-figure kills, led by freshman Caylee Parker who knocked down a double-double of 17 kills and 16 digs. The victory ended USF’s four-match swing. UConn earned its fourth conference win of the season, while the Bulls remain locked in fifth place with a 7-6 record.
