Highlights
-Cincinnati swept a men’s and women’s tri-dual meet with Michigan State and Miami (Ohio) on Saturday in Oxford, Ohio. The Bearcat men beat Michigan State 191-109 and Miami 227-71, while the Cincinnati women raced past the Spartans 180-120 and the Redhawks 159-141. Dominic Polling powered the Cincinnati men’s squad as a triple-winner in the 100 freestyle (:45.64), 100 breaststroke (:55.99) and 200 IM (1:50.52), while Blake Hanna (100 backstroke, :49.99; 200 backstroke, 1:48.84) and Din Selmanovic (200 freestyle, 1:38.80; 500 freestyle, 4:33.55) were individual double-winners. Lina Kutsko swept first place in the 50 freestyle (:23.63) and the 100 butterfly (:55.44), and Claire Schuermann (3-meter dive, 254.75 points) and Parker Saladin (200 butterfly, 1:50.30) added wins on the women’s side for Cincinnati.
-East Carolina logged a Saturday home sweep of William & Mary in Greenville, North Carolina. The Pirates earned a 176-101 win on the men’s side and a 173.5-99.5 decision in the women’s competition against William & Mary. Marek Osina finished as a double-winner in the 200 backstroke (1:48.43) and 200 IM (1:52.53), alongside teammate Blaz Demsar in the 200 freestyle (1:40.91) and 500 freestyle (4:38.15). Shannon Stott swept the 100 butterfly (:56.42) and 200 butterfly (2:07.81) in the women’s events for ECU, and Lilly West added first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.79) and the 200 breaststroke (2:20.62). Jodi Ogle (100 backstroke, :57.46; 200 backstroke, 2:02.58) and Adela Vavrinova (100 freestyle, :51.80; 200 IM, 2:04.03) were also double-winners for the Pirates.
-Houston picked up a diving team victory at home as part of the Houston Diving Invitational and added a third-place swimming result at the Rice Fall Invitational. Josie Blodgett won the 1-meter dive with 266.05 points, with Katie Deininger in second place (264.75 points) and Chase Farris in third place (251.30 points). Deininger led the Cougars in the 3-meter dive with a runner-up effort of 291.55 points. Ioanna Sacha (200 backstroke, 2:03.11), Audrey McKinnon (200 breaststroke, 2:19.69) and Peyton Kondis (100 breaststroke, 1:04.92) each claimed individual swimming wins at Rice.
-The SMU women’s team played host to the SMU Classic in Dallas, welcoming ranked foes in No. 13 Auburn, No. 21 Louisville and No. RV Northwestern as part of the meet field. Nicole Stambo was the runner-up in 1-meter diving with 267.50 points, and Gabriella Grobler checked in third in the 200 IM with a personal-best time of 2:00.43.
