Trystan Melancon tossed a no-hitter on Saturday, helping lead Houston to a pair of victories and extend the Cougars' winning streak to six games. Melancon's no-hitter in the 8-0 win over Northern Illinois is the 17th in program history and second of her career. She is the fifth pitcher in program history to have multiple career no-hitters. Melancon fell three walks shy of throwing a perfect game, having flirted with perfection into the fourth inning.

In the Cougars' contest against Kennesaw State, it was Lindsey Stewart who elevated Houston to the 2-1 walk-off win in extra innings with her single up the middle. Presley Bell locked down the Owls' offense, throwing all eight innings, while surrendering just one run to go along with a career-high nine strikeouts.

Wichita State 8, Abilene Christian 1; Wichita State 3, UT Arlington 1

Wichita State extended its winning streak to eight games on Saturday, defeating Abilene Christian 8-1 before a 3-1 victory over tournament host UT Arlington in the nightcap. The Shockers scored seven unanswered runs over the final three innings against Abilene Christian, with Madison Perrigan going 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a pair of doubles. Ryleigh Buck added two RBI of her own while tallying her first homer of the season. Erin McDonald struck out a season-high seven batters and allowed four hits in the complete game victory.

Perrigan again led the Shockers offensive attack against UT Arlington, going 2-for-3 and driving in all three of Wichita State's runs. Five additional Shockers each tallied one hit, while Caitlin Bingham tossed her fourth complete game of the season in the circle. Bingham allowed five hits and had three strikeouts for her sixth win of the season.

UCF 3, Penn State 2 (8 innings); UCF 2, Pitt 0

UCF completed the Saturday sweep with wins over Pitt and Penn State Saturday evening at the UCF Softball Complex.The Knights took the first game of the day against the Nittany Lions, 3-2 in eight innings thanks to a walk-off sacrifice fly from Aubrey Johnson. UCF's second win on the day came against the Panthers shutting out Pitt, 2-0.

Alea White earned wins in both games tossing 15 combined innings and allowing two earned runs. Cassady Brewer tallied two hits, including a double, and had a pair of RBI against Penn State, while Aubrey Johnson had three hits, a double and an RBI of her own in the win over Pitt.

Texas 2, Tulsa 0; Tulsa 3, Sam Houston State 2

Tulsa split two games on Saturday at the Texas Invitational as the Golden Hurricane fell to No. 11 Texas, 2-0, before a walk-off 3-2 victory over Sam Houston State. The Golden Hurricane got strong starting pitching performances from Chenise Delce and Kassidy Scott, as each allowed just a pair of runs in their outings. Haley Meinen homered as part of the comeback against Sam Houston State, while Tori Stafford and Morgan Neal each logged a double on the day.

Delce allowed four hits and two runs in five innings in the loss to Texas, while Josie Muffley, Morgan Neal, Jesse Smith and Haley Meinen had hits for the Golden Hurricane. Meinen tied the game with a homer and Delce completed the seventh-inning comeback with the game-winning RBI single against Sam Houston State. Josie Muffley had a season-high three hits, while Kassidy Scott gave up two runs in 6.2 innings of a no-decision. Samantha Pochop came on in relief to pick up the win.

USF 6, Georgia State 2; Texas State 4, USF 3

USF opened its day at the USF-Rawlings Invitational with a win over Georgia State, 6-2, and closed with a close loss to -/RV Texas State, 4-3. The Bulls jumped ahead early against the Panthers to secure a 6-2 victory, and battled Texas State to the very last out in a close 4-3 loss.

Bethaney Keen had two hits and a pair of RBI in the win over Georgia State as three additional Bulls drove in a run apiece. In the circle, Cheyenne Eggens earned her first win of the season after allowing three hits and a pair of walks in six innings. Against Texas State, four USF players tallied two hits, but the visitors posted a four-run fourth inning that proved to be the difference.

Stanford 5, Memphis 1; Michigan 4, Memphis 2

Memphis had a pair of setbacks on Saturday, as Stanford defeated Memphis in game one by a score of 5-1 before Michigan won by a 4-2 margin. Gracie Morton led the team offensively against Stanford, tallying two hits in the second spot in the lineup. Baylee Smith, Regan Hadley, Alyssa Dean and Ashton Stowe also registered hits in game one of the day.

Hadley extended her hitting streak to three games against the Wolverines with a solo shot in the top of the second inning, while Ryleigh Aungst connected on her first collegiate home run in the loss to Michigan as well.

Florida Gulf Coast 7, UConn 0; Florida Atlantic 3, UConn 2

UConn dropped a pair of contests to Florida teams on Saturday, falling 7-0 to Florida Gulf Coast before a 3-2 setback against tournament host Florida Atlantic. Ashley Esty and Aziah James tallied UConn's two hits against Florida Gulf Coast, while Jill Stockley allowed 13 hits and seven runs in 5.1 innings and was saddled with the loss.

Against Florida Atlantic, Kelli Bates and Carli Cutler each recorded a hit, while Alexis Lemus had two hits, including an RBI single. Katie Koshes took the loss in game two, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

Boston College 1, ECU 0

ECU received a gem of a pitching effort from Erin Poepping Saturday evening but could not push a run across as Boston College slipped out of the ECU Softball Stadium with a 1-0 victory to open the Pirate Clash. ECU out-hit the visiting Eagles 4-2 but went just 1-for-11 with runners on base and 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. The Pirates also committed three errors. All six hits in the contest were singles. Poepping tossed her fifth complete game of the season, surrendering just one run on two hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
