Tulsa 3, Iowa 0 (10 innings); Tulsa 1, Bucknell 0
Tulsa recorded shutout wins against Iowa (3-0; 10 innings) and Bucknell (1-0) to give 14th-year head coach John Bargfeldt his 500th career victory on the final day of the Tiger Classic. Tulsa picked up its first wins of the season by throwing 17 shutout innings over the two games. Chenise Delce tossed nine shutout innings on her way to her first collegiate win in the 10-inning victory against Iowa and Samantha Pochop notched eight strikeouts in her seven spotless frames.
Against Iowa, Julia Hollingsworth went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and Mikayla Whitten went 1-for-3 and drove in the first run of the game. The effort was enough to give Delce her first collegiate victory in the circle after she went nine innings and struck out seven, while yielding five hits and three walks. Hollingsworth led the Hurricane offense with three hits against Bucknell, including the 11th triple of her career, while Alexis Perry drove in the only run of the game with a sacrifice fly.
UConn 3, Bryant 0; UConn-FIU canceled
UConn endured a pair of rain delays to nab the win over Bryant 3-0 Saturday morning. While the 2019 season is still in its infancy, the Huskies are now 3-0, a streak not seen since the 2007 season. Briana Marcelino finished with two hits, including a double, to lead the UConn offense, who also received a two-run double from Chloe Kerns. Marybeth Olson earned the win in the circle, tossing 11 strikeouts and only allowing three hits.
UConn's second game of the afternoon on Saturday, against tournament host FIU, was cancelled after the day's schedule was altered due to rain throughout Saturday. The Huskies close the weekend with their previously scheduled matchup with FIU on Sunday.
ECU 14, Towson 5
Facing a five-run deficit in the second inning, ECU responded by scoring 14 unanswered runs, including 12 in the fourth inning alone, on the way to a 14-5 five-inning victory over Towson on day two of the Spartan Classic on the campus of USC Upstate. The Pirates recorded their second-straight win by the run rule and improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2016.
Tyler King continued her torrid start to the season, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI as well as her fifth stolen base of the campaign. Rachel McCollum also produced an impressive stat line with three runs scored, four RBI and a three-run home run that gave the Pirates the lead for good. An additional quartet of ECU batters enjoyed multi-hit performances in Ashleigh Inae (2-for-3), Kendra Ziemba (2-for-3), Ashley Weingartz (2-for-3) and Abigail Umphlett (2-for-4). Erin Poepping secured the win in relief as she tossed 3.1 scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit and striking out one batter.
UCF 3, Ohio State 2; UCF 7, George Mason 0
UCF and head coach Cindy Ball-Malone picked up their first wins of the season after defeating Ohio State, 3-2, and George Mason, 7-0. The victory over Ohio State gave Ball-Malone her 100th victory as a head coach in Division I. UCF tallied 12 total hits on the day with 10 runs, eight walks, and six doubles between the two games. As a team, the Knights compiled 21 total bases.
Alicia Tomberlin, Jazmine Esparza, and Hayley Bejarano led the way for UCF with two hits each with Tomberlin pacing the Knights with four RBI. In the circle, Breanna Vasquez and Alea White evened out their records at 1-1 each after they both picked up wins Saturday.

Memphis dropped game one of the day to Big Ten foe Michigan State by a 11-6 margin before falling in the night cap to FIU by a score of 4-1. Delaney Smith and Ashley Threatt extended their hitting streaks Saturday and Regan Hadley hit the first Memphis home run of the season against Michigan State.

Michigan 10, USF 1; NC Sate 2, USF 1
Bethaney Keen is on a four-game hitting streak, despite USF's losses to No. 19 Michigan and NC State in The USF Opening Weekend Invitational. Keen extended her hitting streak to four games when she went 2-for-2 against No. 19 Michigan and 1-for-2 against NC State.
Keen finished with two of USF's three hits in the loss to Michigan, while Kyndall Williams collected her first career double against NC State in the nightcap.
Pitt 4, Wichita State 2; Charleston 4, Wichita State 1
Wichita State dropped a pair of games on Saturday, as a late seventh inning rally was not enough to lift the Shockers past Pitt in the opener and tournament host Charleston used a four-run fourth inning for the win in the second game of the day. In the opener, Ryleigh Buck drove in a run with her first triple of the season and a Pitt error allowed a second run to score on the play to tie the game momentarily before Pitt regained the lead and got the win.
Against Charleston, Wylie Glover came up with a career-high three hits offensively and Caitlin Bingham tied her career high in strikeouts with six in six innings of work in the circle.
Kentucky 13, Houston 1; Illinois 4, Houston 2
