Just one week after tossing the second no-hitter of her career, Trystan Melancon threw a perfect game on Saturday to help lead Houston to a pair of wins on day two of the Red and White Showcase. Melancon's perfect game in the 8-0 win over DePaul became just the fourth in program history and first since Angel Shamblin threw the third of her career in 2008. Melancon also became the third pitcher in program history to toss three no-hitters in a career.

In Houston's contest against the Blue Demons, Abby Odneal was perfect at the plate with a career-high four hits in the matchup. She recorded a career-high two RBI as well. Brianna Burton and sophomore Aspen Howie rounded out those who recorded multiple hits for the Cougars. The dominant pitching from the Cougars carried over into their nighttime victory over Texas Southern, as Rachel Hertenberger led Houston to the 9-0 win. In the win, she extended her scoreless inning streak to 10, having struck out a career-high eight batters in the process.
