USF 2, Memphis 1
USF swept its fifth straight American series and matched the league's best conference record in history with its 2-1 win over Memphis in the series finale. USF’s 16 wins in The American ties UCF for the best all-time record in softball in the American Athletic Conference which was set in 2015. Macy Cook had a two-hit game and drove in both runs for USF, while Georgina Corrick struck out five batters and walked one to earn the win while working around a Memphis run in the seventh.
Karli Perque tossed a complete game for Memphis in the loss, striking out three and allowing one earned run. All five of Memphis' hits came from different players.
UConn 8, ECU 4
UConn completed the series sweep of ECU Sunday afternoon with an 8-4 victory at the ECU Softball Stadium. Katie Koshes tossed 6.1 innings in the victory, allowing four runs on five hits with six walks and three strikeouts. Reese Guevarra and Alexis Lemus each recorded two hits, a run scored and a RBI for the Huskies.
Courtney Layton led the ECU offense with two hits while Rachel McCollum drove in three runs with her seventh home run of the campaign. Whitney Sanford was the losing pitcher, surrendering four runs (three earned) on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
Houston 9, UCF 1
Behind a pair of home runs and a season-high 18 hits, Houston took down UCF by a score of 9-1 on Sunday to win its fourth conference series of the season. Houston's offense set season-highs in hits (18) and extra-base hits (5). Along with the 18 hits, six different Cougars posted multiple hits in the game, which included a pair of three-hit outings and a 4-for-4 performance from Maya Thomas.
Denali Schappacher led the way for the Knights at the plate, collecting two hits. Breanna Vasquez took the loss, tossing 5.2 innings giving up 16 hits, walking two and striking out two.
Tulsa 3, Wichita State 1
Rylie Spell hit a two-run double to help No. 25 Tulsa defeat visiting Wichita State, 3-1, to take the American Athletic Conference series on Senior Day at the Collins Family Softball Complex. Morgan Neal went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Golden Hurricane, who have won all six conference series this season and assured a finish of no worse than second in the league standings with three road games to play. Alexis Perry also went 2-for-3 and drove in Tulsa's other run, while Samantha Pochop improved to 11-6 in the circle after she gave up just one run on three hits with six strikeouts.
Ryleigh Buck produced the lone offensive highlight for Wichita State with her fourth inning solo home run. The blast was her ninth of the season, moving her into a tie with Madison Perrigan for the team lead. Erin McDonald pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out seven. With the loss, McDonald's record drops to 12-11 on the season.
